My 2018 Bullet Journal
Y'all, I finally got a bullet journal. I first heard about bullet journals earlier this year, and I have been intrigued by the concept ever since then. The fact that you could just organize everything in one journal just blew my mind. But I wanted to try it.
So I used a little notebook that I had to try to start one, but it didn't really work - the whole "bullet" aspect wasn't really there, and it was really messy. Like, so small and cramped that you couldn't read it. Needless to say, I was a bit frustrated. Were all of them like that? But I still wanted to give it a go, so (after forgetting to ask for one for Christmas) I ordered a bullet journal and a nice set of pens a few days into the new year. Thank the Lord for Amazon!
I received my package a few days later, and I started to get really excited. I was finally going to have a bullet journal! I immediately browsed Pinterest for page ideas. (Cut to a few days later, me still on Pinterest) By the end of the next week I was LOVING my bullet journal. I had so many great pages, and I think it's time I share what I have in it so far!
My bullet journal came from the amazing land of Amazon, and of course Amazon can't let you buy just one thing. So of course I had to buy these amazing pens to journal with, because one black gel pen isn't enough, right? But really, I LOVE these pens. They're so smooth, and they all work really well (except for my yellow, which split a little bit the first day I had it...). I would definitely recommend these!
My bullet journal came with a table of contents, so I can just write things down when I make a new page. It's pretty simple, but it works! (side note: I realized as I was writing this that I had not updated my table of contents since yesterday, so the above picture isn't fully accurate, sorry)
I made an adorable password page, but I realized too late that I can't share my passwords with y'all, so I had to make a tiny, dark picture out of it. rip
My birthday page is, admittedly, pretty lame. I was intending to do a lot more decorative stuff, but then the layout I had in mind would not have fit what I had already done. It's disappointing, I know, but it works!
This is one of my favorite pages so far - I love the concept of putting a colour down every single day, and it's also fun to see how far we've gotten through the year. I found this (as I've found everything else) on pinterest, and even before I had gotten a journal, I really wanted to make a page like this. And now I have!!
I made the mistake of writing my resolutions in a google doc and not printing them out and pasting them on my wall. I have probably failed miserably at half of those already, but I wrote down some of the most important ones here so that I would be reminded of them every time I flipped by.
What is a journal without a doodle page? Even though mine are always terrible, I love doodling. So whenever I get the urge to draw a pineapple and my favorite psych quote, I can be satisfied. I'll probably need to make another at some point!
This, my friends, is my January Habit Tracker. It's very similar to the "Year in Pixels" page, but way more specific. I only made this a day or two ago, so I haven't been able to fill out a lot of things except the days I remember. I'm hoping I can be consistent with all of these things! (Side note: The other page is my journaling, which I like to use as my private little diary. So I did spot fix all over it and it now looks like a blurry inky mess. đ)
These are my last two pages (so far). Page 12 is a page that I'll *eventually* fill with all of the things that make me happy. So when I get sad, I can just do one of the things on there so that I can become happy again! Page 13 is my movie page, which I just started yesterday. It's nowhere near full right now, but when I'm done it will be! (Speaking of favorite movies, I just {finally} watched Moana, and I LOVED it! Hei Hei is my spirit animal đ)
That's all I have so far in my bullet journal! I'll update you pretty frequently, maybe once a month or attached to monthly wrap-up posts. But thanks SO much for reading! Tell me about your bullet journal in the comments, and if you've posted about it PLEASE link to it! I would love to read it. (Also, I would like to apologize for the terrible lighting and quality of these pictures. I was going to take all of them yesterday with the dSLR, but something I was baking took WAY longer than expected, so it never really happened.)
I would also like to do a little shout out to a fellow blogger, Olivia (from Purely Olivia). She just posted about her bullet journal yesterday, and I was amazed to see how similar mine was to hers! We even got the same pens.đ Y'all should go check that out here if you haven't already.
