September in recap
...Well, it's been a while. And that's my fault. I know that you guys are waiting to see the next stage of my trip, and I have failed to be constant. Life opened my door and hit me in the face. I've started school - my first year homeschooling - and that's been a bit stressful. I've had so much to do, but I know I probably did have time, but I just never got to that. I am so sorry. It's been weeks since my last post. I'm face desking. I apologize for that.
But aside from my deep regret and guilt for knocking you off a cliff and making you hang there, I've been doing a few things. I've attempted to start a sort of journal, which has not always worked out, but it has been there for me if I'm bored. My 10th page in that journal was dedicated to writing something memorable down every day for the month of September. This, my friends, is my September, in a whirlwind recapitulation.
On the 1st, I slept in. On the 2nd, I made bread for the first time. On the 3rd, I wore my first pair of heels to church. On the 4th, I jammed in my room to Spanish music. On the 5th, I had my first Latin and Life Science class through Wilson Hill Academy. On the 6th, I had my first Algebra class, also through WHA. On the 7th, I had a coffee date with my mom. On the 8th, I stayed in pajamas all day. On the 9th, I went to Highland Park in Rochester. On the 10th, I had a seating audition for orchestra. On the 11th, I found out that I was in the 1st violins in orchestra. On the 12th, I learned the Latin word amo, which means, "to love." On the 13th, I skyped with my amazing squad from Csehy. On the 14th, I learned about the characteristics of organisms. On the 15th, I went to orchestra mini-camp. On the 16th, I had my first official rehearsal with the HYSO. On the 17th, my brother had his first rehearsal with the RPYO. On the 18th, I learned about using a microscope. On the 19th, I learned about all 5 Latin cases, Nominative, Genitive, Dative, Accusative, and Ablative. On the 20th, I had an Algebra quiz on absolute value and things of that nature. On the 21st, I had a Latin quiz on several new nouns. On the 22nd, my brother thought he lost a borrowed C Trumpet. On the 23rd, Dr. Potter (the choral director at Roberts Wesleyan College) came to our house. On the 24th, I made a candle. On the 25th we went to Dr. Potter's house. On the 26th I had a lesson. On the 27th I baked brownies. On the 28th I went running.
Yes, I know September's not done yet, but if I wait until it is, I'll probably forget about it all.
Some other news: My brother's trumpet teacher's daughter had a baby; my brother is currently at a college fair(how did my big brother grow up so quickly???); it's been really, really hot outside for the latter portion of September, but today it finally felt like fall.
I also attempted a little teeny bit of photography today, trying to capture a little bit of fall.
Some leaves and chipped, old nail polish ;)
My neighbor's tree
And I just thought my outfit was cute today :)
Well, that just about wraps up September! I'd love to know what the highlight of your month was, so comment below! Are you excited for fall?
XOXO,
Catharine
